Language and Literacy
The curriculum will foster language and literacy development through a print-rich, play-based environment where children have daily opportunities to read, write, listen, and communicate. A dedicated reading area, writing area, daily circle time, and story time will encourage children to build vocabulary and early literacy skills. Labeled materials, songs, rhymes, open-ended conversations, and child-led storytelling will help children develop communication skills while making language and literacy a natural part of their everyday experiences.

Social and Emotional Development
The curriculum will support children’s social and emotional development by creating a safe, caring, and welcoming environment where every child feels a sense of belonging. Children will be encouraged to develop self-esteem, self-confidence, cooperation, mutual respect, and positive relationships with both children and adults. Guidance and discipline will focus on helping children understand their emotions, develop social skills, solve conflicts, and build the skills they need to interact successfully with others.

Thinking Skills
The curriculum will foster cognitive development through hands-on, play-based learning and intentional teaching experiences. Children will have opportunities to explore early math concepts such as counting, sorting, comparing, and measuring through daily routines, games, and teachable moments. Activities such as cooking and gardening will introduce early science concepts, while field trips and conversations about the community and culture will expand children’s understanding of the world around them. Problem-solving, sensory exploration, and hands-on discovery will be incorporated throughout the learning environment.

Creativity and Physical Development
The curriculum will provide daily opportunities for children to develop creativity while strengthening both fine and gross motor skills. Children will be encouraged to use their imagination through open-ended art, dramatic play, music, dancing, sensory activities, and movement. A variety of materials and experiences will allow children to express themselves, explore their interests, and develop new skills while building both large and small muscles through indoor and outdoor activities. The curriculum will also continue to grow through ongoing professional learning, including the use of child development resources, curriculum training, CECO modules, best-practice guides, and formal curriculum approaches for high-quality home-based care.
