Nurture
Financial Security and Economic Mobility for Child Care Entrepreneurs
ABOUT NURTURE
Nurture incubates child care businesses to increase financial security for entrepreneurs and meet the demand for care in child care deserts. In 2024, Nurture received independent 501(c)3 nonprofit designation, after 3 years of fiscal sponsorship by Mission Asset Fund (MAF), a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with deep expertise in equitably delivering innovative tech-forward services.
Nurture’s service delivery model is anchored by partnerships with local stakeholders in child care deserts. Through app-based instructional content, virtual support, and facilitated access to capital and services, Nurture extends the capacity of partner programs to achieve their missions.
Nurture’s financial model relies on philanthropic support for designing and evaluating new services while leveraging public funding streams—workforce, entrepreneurship, and early care and education—to support ongoing service delivery to entrepreneurs.

Nurture’s evolving business content, which builds on decades wisdom and insights from the child care, small business development, and workforce development fields, is co-created with entrepreneurs. Through human-centered design cycles, we iteratively develop and hone the content and delivery to maximize effectiveness with marginalized entrepreneurs.
